Terms & copyright
what you promise, and how to report a problem
When you upload a meme
Every time you upload a picture or a clip to make memes with, or a picture to put text on, you confirm this for that file, before it goes up:
- It's mine, or I have permission to use it, and it doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Everyone recognisable in it has agreed to it being used and shared here.
- What I make with it is public unless I make it private, and once I use it in a public meme it joins the Memify template library for anyone to use.
- I agree to the Terms. Uploading other people’s work without permission gets uploads switched off.
If any of it is not true, do not upload it. We keep a record of each confirmation: who, which file, and when.
What you make is public unless you make it private. The first time you use a template you uploaded in a public meme, it joins the Memify template library, where anybody can pick it and make their own memes with it. You keep whatever rights you have in it, and you give memify a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, show and adapt it, and to let other people make memes with it. It stays in the library if you later delete your copy or make that meme private; it comes out if a takedown against it is upheld.
Uploads from before 25 September 2026 keep the rule they were made under: what you make from them starts private, and they never join the library. Photos of yourself are never listed anywhere.
Wording in force since 2026-09-25.
Reporting a creation
Every public creation has a report flag. Pick what is wrong: it uses your copyrighted work, it shows you without your consent, it is an intimate image of a real person, it involves a child, or something else. It is hidden at once — nobody has to review it first.
The creator is told why, and sees what you wrote — never who you are. They can accept it, or dispute it, and then a person decides. Reports of intimate images or involving children cannot be disputed and are reviewed by a person within 48 hours. Whoever reported it hears the outcome.
Reports that keep turning out to be wrong stop hiding things: they still reach a person, just not instantly.
Copyright notices
No account? Write to andreas@andreaskra.com with a link to the creation, what you own, how we can reach you, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised. We take it down and tell the creator. If the creator disputes a copyright notice, we pass their answer on to you, and put it back 14 days later unless you tell us you have taken them to court.
If yours was taken down
You get a ping, and Takedowns shows which creation, why, and what the report said. Accept it and it stays hidden; dispute it — in your own words, which you vouch for — and a person decides. While it is taken down it stays yours, but you cannot make it public again.
Repeat infringement
3 upheld takedowns and uploading is switched off on that account. A takedown counts when you accepted it, a person upheld it, or you left it unanswered for 14 days. Reports of the “something else” kind do not count, and neither does a takedown of a template we supplied. Everything already made stays where it is; what stops is adding more.
Contact point
For authorities and for anybody using memify, one address: andreas@andreaskra.com. We answer in English and German.
memify is run by Hypersonic Machine Intelligence Services F.Z.E, trade licence no. 40228 (Ajman Free Zone), represented by Andreas Krassnitzer. Office C1 — 1F — SF10191, Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates.
Your photos
Photos you upload are yours. Delete one and it is deleted — the file, not a hidden row — from your library and from our storage. Creations you already made from it stay yours; making a new one from it will not work, which is what deletion means.
Who else handles your files
To make a meme, memify sends what the model needs — your photo, the meme or clip, and your instruction — to the company that runs that model. They get the files and the words, never your name or email address.
- Google (USA) makes still memes with its Gemini models, and reads pictures to describe them.
- fal (USA) runs the other models: Seedream by ByteDance, Kling by Kuaishou, Wan by Alibaba and PixVerse. fal may pass your files on to the model’s maker to run it.
- Stripe takes payments on its own page, so memify never sees your card.
- Google signs you in, and tells us your name, email address and profile picture.
Your account, uploads and creations are kept on memify’s own server, rented from Hostinger in the USA.
We also count what happens to each creation — downloads, shares, opens, remakes — to learn which models people like best: with your account when you are signed in, and with no name when you are not.
